- Tillandsia Matudae is rare in commercial cultivation. This Mexican air plant has a silvery grey-green colour making it easy to confuse with much more common Tillandsia Velickiana. The difference really becomes apparent when the plant flowers. Tillandsia Matudae can be somewhat variable, producing a similarly pendulous inflorescence to that of Velickiana but ranging in colour from orange-red to yellow-green when compared to the soft pink of Velickiana. The flowers themselves are white and extend beyond the floral bract.
- All of the plants will be shipped bare root.
LIGHT/SOIL/WATER
- It wants lots of light but we must go very carefully with direct sunlight especially in summer, it is best to partial shade.
- No soil is needed. Sand, sea glass, rocks, pebbles & bark chips can be used instead of soil.
- Moderate, 3 times in summer, and once every 15 days in winter.
